Tell us about your placement

I work as part of a team to support those working within Procurement, Quality and Supply in our External Supply network. This role also involves ensuring compliance with current global issues and challenges, such as sanctions, sustainability and managing risk. The role includes aspects of project management, supply chain theories to resolve issues and managing stakeholders. My input has been valued by everyone I work with and has allowed me to help drive performance.

Why your industry?

What is your top tip for working in your industry?

In this industry I have found that the most important factor is always the effect to the patient/consumer at the end of the supply chain, and it is always considered when decisions need to be made.

Which personality traits or skills aid success in the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Industry?

I have found I have needed to be pro active and diligent in my work because of the importance to ensure our customers get the best product possible. This also means you need a drive to be the best you can be, and look to continually develop your skills.

What do you enjoy most about the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Industry?

Working in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry effects everyone and impacts on all aspects of life. Because of this, there is always something you can relate to and look to get more involved in, with partnerships with charities, sporting industry and other research projects.

What advice would you share to others considering a career in the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Industry?

Look to gain breadth of knowledge to build a foundation for your career, and consider that this is a business which should help everyone on our planet, not just those fortunate enough to afford it.
