Placement (10 Months+)

What was the interview process like?

I was invited to an assessment day where I learned about Gazprom Energy, the energy industry and the culture of the business. I then worked with the other candidates to develop and present a marketing campaign for a new energy product. I finished with an interview and a proofreading exercise.

How much responsibility were you given?

A huge amount of responsibility! It’s great to feel trusted with tasks, projects and making decisions. You’re treated as a real employee and there’s always someone there to help if you need support. I always feel appreciated for my hard work and I’m recognised as a valued member of the team.

What advice would you give to someone applying for your role?

Show your passion, professionalism and originality. Make certain you understand who the ideal candidate is and demonstrate that you’re that person. It also helps to study the company background and industry so you can show you have taken the time to prepare.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been organising my priorities during busy periods. When deadlines are looming and your to-do list gets longer, it’s a challenge to organise your time effectively and stay focused on the priorities. Luckily my team has always been there to help!

What do you most enjoy about your role?

I really enjoy the hands-on work and projects that I’m involved in on a daily basis. I always feel appreciated for my hard work and I’m recognised as a valued member of the team and the wider business. I’ve had a lot of exposure and met lots of great people.

What were the activities outside of work?

I’ve taken part in the Bupa 10K run as part of the business challenge with more than fifty colleagues. There have also been plenty of hospitality events and team ‘away days’ throughout the year. We have regular social nights too!
