What advice would you give to students applying for your role?

To be yourself, be honest and to share your passion for learning.

What do you most enjoy about your role?

I enjoy the flexibility that my role has. I have core work responsibilities, but I also have the flexibility to work on projects or learn skills which I am interested in for my personal development. It is amazing to be supported and encouraged to do this.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge for me was figuring out what type of work I was interested in. There are so many opportunities but sometimes it can be difficult to find or know what opportunities will be good for your own personal development.

How has this experience exceeded your expectations?

The learning culture at Microsoft is incredible, especially for someone partaking in their internship. This is what exceeded my expectations. All employees are expected to always be learning, whether that is on the job or through training courses.

What is the office atmosphere like?

It is a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. There are lots of coffee and food areas as well as places to work collaboratively. This encourages the relaxed feeling within the offices.

What activities are there outside of work?

The intern cohort organise their own social activities outside the office. There are also lots of different clubs including football and cycling which are organized by other employees. There is also a gym at the office.
