What is the area like?

While there is certainly opportunity for fun in Weymouth, I will say that it has been very enjoyable to take a break from the intensity of university life. The area will likely be more quiet and relaxing than what most university students will have become accustomed to, with a sandy beach, historical buildings and ruins.

Even more locally, the ASM building is situated on an Industrial Estate, conveniently a short walk from a Diner, a Pub and a Fish & Chip shop.

What has ASM done to make you feel safe at work due to the pandemic?

I believe there is little more ASM could feasibly be doing to protect its employees. ASM follows all government guidance, and keeps its employees aware of any changes to procedures. For those unable to work from home, the company has given out branded cloth masks, and also offers disposable masks at the building entrance in case employees have forgotten their own. In addition, there are temperature scanners, automatic hand sanitisers, and wipes available to employees, in addition to a zoning system which reduces in-person interaction between departments, and increased cleaning and sanitising procedures. This makes me feel comfortable to come into work as I understand that the company is doing all it can to prioritise the health and wellbeing of its employees.

Have you been given guidance and support in your role?

I have been fully trained in the software I need to use for my role, but my co-workers and manager understand that adapting to a new role is a process, so I receive guidance and assistance as I work.
