When someone visits ratemyplacement.co.uk we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We make use of a third party tool called Convert.com to optimise our website by A/B testing content and user journeys on our website. Convert.com will place cookies on to your browser to ensure you see the same version of an A/B test throughout the site. We do not expose any personally identifiable information to Convert.com.

Advertising and Promotion

Google Ads

We make use of a third party service called Google Ads to advertise our job listings and email alerts via adverts on Google Search results. We also use this tool for display marketing, which falls into either prospecting adverts (for those who have never been on our website) or retargeting adverts (for those who have been on ratemyplacement.co.uk before). Google Ads will place cookies on to your browser to identify what category you fall into, as well as to track if you have clicked one of our adverts. Any targeting is based solely on third party data acquired by Google, and is only open to us as aggregate data. We are not privy to your specific data. We also do not expose any of your own personally identifiable information to Google Ads.

Facebook and Instagram Tracking

We make use of Facebook’s Advertising suite in order to create adverts of our services, which are hosted on a variety of areas within Facebook, including its news feed, Instagram’s photo feed and Facebook Messenger. Facebook will place cookies on to your browser to track if you view or click one of our ads. Any targeting is based solely on any information you have given to Facebook, and is only open to us as aggregate data. We are not privy to your specific data. We also do not expose any of your own personally identifiable information to Facebook.

Push Notifications

We use a third party service called ‘OneSignal’ to send job vacancies via push notifications in browser – these push notifications are consent based. If you consent to receiving push notifications from ratemyplacement.co.uk none of your personal data is sent to OneSignal. When you consent to receiving push notifications you are assigned an anonymous unique identifier for the particular device that you are using; these unique identifiers are used to track your subscription to push notifications as well as us being able to track analytical data of the individual push notifications such as the number of clicks a push notification has received.
