-
It was a great place to gain practical experience from and people there were friendly and helpful. You wouldn't be left alone with problems. They were always happy to help.

-
Although I was there for just a period of approximately 9 months, they treated me like one of their permanent colleague.
- 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
-
Someone was always there to guide me and give me a clear explanation as to why and what was it for before delegating a new task to me.
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
Most of the time it was good balance but sometimes it would get busy when all the tasks came all at once.

-
There was not much to do for the first 3 months but gradually I was given different tasks to complete.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

My Excel skills has improved extensively due to my day-to-day tasks.
Also, I have enhanced some of my soft skills such as communicating with different level of management as well as adaptability of the new working environment.
The Organisation

-
Most of my colleagues are friendly and have great sense of humour but obviously when it comes to work, everyone is serious and good at what they do.
- 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
-
It was not as organised as I thought it would be but probably because their management has gone through a restructuring process where staffs need to take on additional workload and some have been made redundant.
- 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
-
I was trained to use their in-house system for my day-to-day job.
- 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
-
- Flexi Time
- Subsidised Canteen
- Staff Sales/Staff Shop
- Above 25 days holiday
- Healthcare/Dental
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
Their graduate scheme is quite appealing as it will support you on pursuing professional qualification and you will be given the opportunity to work in different departments.
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
-
I was the only placement student there but there was a colleague in the graduate scheme.
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
-
I live in town and it takes me 40minutes by bus to travel to work. Other than cost of transportation, you don't spend much on other things really. They even offer subsidised food for staffs.
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
-
Never go anywhere other than my workplace as I live in town and I got most of my entertainment there.
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
There were quite a few events such as charities, Manchester Parade and a few social events.
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?
-
Its a good place to gain practical experience from as you can understand how such a big organisation maintain their operation and survive through the hard-time.
