Role Description

As a Summer Intern, I worked with the Risk team within HSBC Global Private Bank for 10 weeks. My main responsibilities included writing reports, contributing to risk analysis and research, compiling presentations, using databases and attending meetings in an observational role.

My colleagues made my internship one of the best experiences of my life - it was wonderful to work with such an enthusiastic, organized, close-knit and professional group of people. I was working on reports that were being actively used in the business for risk assessment - the level of responsibility was as much as it could have been for an intern. My work was always moderated and checked, but my contributions were encouraged and valued.

We were given a week of intensive training (technical and soft skills), before hitting our desks for 9 weeks. During those 9 weeks, Human Resources offered constant support. There were regular assessments and appraisals to encourage us to gain the most from our internships. There were events organized every week to allow us to explore all areas of the Global Business.
