    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I was originally attending Women in IT, but as the number of applicants were too low attended the Women's insight. It was not specifically what I was looking for, but it gave an overall view of the bank, and also gave me the chance to network with graduates from the IT program.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • As it was only one day and it mostly consisted of presentations and case studies to familiarize us with the institution it was difficult to feel valued as such, but I feel that they valued your questions and took their time to respond to them and help you with your queries.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We were given good guidance on how to complete the application and how to pass all the assessments in order to land an internship/graduate job.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It was only one day, but we did a few case studies that helped us understand how the bank operates and what it values, which was useful.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was very well structured. Unfortunately some of the panel members did not show up for their presentation and question-and-answer section, which was a bit of a shame. Other than that it was very well structured with presentations, case studies and a networking lunch.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everybody was excited, asked questions and interested.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As it was only an insight I wasn't expecting them to invest in me. It was nice that they managed to get some of the more senior people to come and talk to us, and it seems as if they would invest a lot in you once you are on the program.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I got a good picture of the bank, and why people want to work there.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very well. Everybody I spoke to said the same thing, that the culture is really good and that people help each other out and are generally very encouraging.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was valuable to decide whether I would want to work at the BoE in the future.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • They covered travel expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes most of the day consisted of Q&A with managers and graduates which was very helpful to get a picture of what it was like to work there, and also to decide which role you would want.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There was a networking lunch and some drinks at the end of the day.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There was not a big emphasis on that on the day, but I was told that they support language courses etc if that is something you would like.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Very valuable if you would like a career in banking/economic sector.

    4/5
