    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I learnt a lot of skills and made a good amount of contacts

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt my work was not necessarily valued but I also learnt that my team looked after me in terms of help to develop myself, shadowing and advice very very well. So in this sense like family.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was always given support in my work, anything I didn't understand. Not being judged if I didn't understand and also help to develop an idea of where I would like my career to go.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had days where i really had nothing to do and wasn't given anything by my manager, but became pro active in taking this time to do shadowing or work on other things and so a medium balance I felt.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • In my first 6 months I felt a great deal of responsibility, not too much in the sense I was swamped but enough to feel I added value which I feel lacked in the second half of my placement year due to a change in manager.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I gave 9 because I have learnt many things about myself and also about the way to approach different people and different types of work. However, these skills I don't feel are very useful towards my degree, but in my career and after I have graduated they will help a lot.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Depending on how busy everyone was depended how noisy or fun it was. A good balance as all interns sat together which was great!

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Quite well organised but some errors as I am sure most placements have. Good support system though should anything go wrong.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel the company invest much more in apprentices and graduates than they do interns. Which is understandable as they are full time and we are here for a year however, if they invested more into interns I believe their intake of interns would be a lot greater as we would have developed a knowledge of the company a lot more.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Have the chance to apply back before external candidates however, Not a very high chance of getting back 25% of interns come back. Not a large intake and therefore may be not as appealing as the chances are not too high.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Got on very well with the interns in my base location and so great social scene.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London, so very expensive but also still affordable thanks to our salary.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Central London on ly a short tube journey away was perfect!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Activities in terms of giveback was good to get the chance to 'giveback' to the community ie, interviewing year 11 students etc. Also corporate games a chance to get involved which is great.

    3/5
