I have felt very welcome in the team and often socialise with my work mates.

I have been tasked, as near as possible, the same as a regular team member, so have been very busy.

-
I have completed solo testing efforts in europe and around the UK, and been responsible for reporting my findings.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
-
Managing my own workload has greatly improved my time management, and the time I have spent assisting with the development of an internal reporting website has help improve my dsoftware development skills and taught me Visual Basic and ASP.Net.

The atmosphere is relaxed but professional. There is always plenty of banter at lunchtime and with the other interns over BBM.

- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
I would certainly consider future employement with RIM.
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
-
I did not live or socialise locally but the transport links are very good so you have your pick of locations from London out to Reading.
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
There is a sports and social committee and separate events organised for the interns.
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?
-
I would definitely recommend RIM for a placement. Your manager will push you to realise your potential, and if you express an interest in a project or additional training, they are always helpful.

Placement Year Questions & Answers
-
Hi, Its great to hear that you enjoyed your placement,
I was just wondering what kind of questions you were asked by RIM in your phone interview?
Thanks.
Question asked by a RateMyPlacement user on 2nd December 2010
-
Thanks,
The interview was mostly competency based questions, but I found my research on the company and the devices especially useful compared with other telephone interviews I had.
Hope that helps, and good luck.
