  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I spend 16 weeks during the summer working as Technology analyst which was great and invaluable experience for me.

  • The colleagues and the people working at the company are very knowledgeable, approachable and supportive.

  • I had the best manager I could have wished for. He was always there for me to guild whenever I needed.

  • The investment bank environment is constantly busy and changing - and this is one of the main reasons that makes is so interesting to be part of.

  • I was trusted by my managers and I was given a lot of responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills are not purely focused on the immediate role you are placed, you get to experience and develop much more beyond that.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was very professional, however people were always happy to discuss any problems, provide me with feedback and guidance.

  • The internship was organised very well from start to end.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company allowed me to attend 3 day training program outside of the office. This gave me not only new knowledge, but also introduced me to the whole intern class and many other senior staff.

  • Very.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were a lot of other like minded students on the internship program.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The offices in London are based in Canary Wharf and the area around is expensive, but this is expected.

  • London never sleeps.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, the company runs a lot of sports and social clubs. Many of which are free to join including for interns. I was part of the tennis club which was great in organizing weekly tennis sessions with the interns and other permanent staff.
