The Role
Placement was a real rollercoaster of highs and lows, but overall was very rewarding
Made to feel like part of the team and never really treated 'like a trainee'. At Christmas used like this a little but only when operationally needed.
Regular meetings with store manager and module managers at the time.
Very busy! Never enough hours in the day but this is the nature of retail - you have to get used to it!
Given projects and areas of sole accountability.
Cannot be sure as not back at university yet but taught me time management and commerciality whilst giving a real life background to theories and textbooks
The Company
Can be stressful but the atmosphere was such that we had fun as much as possible. Ate too much cake though!
Structured well, lost its way a little but overall was well organised
Sent us on several courses
Subsidised Canteen
Returning after I graduate to await appointment into a role
The Culture
Several graduates on the region - could have met up more. Colleagues had a good social network with regular meals/nights out.
Cost of living reasonable. Nights out a little expensive - but the places are nicer.
Nightlife really good - Cardiff is a good place to live, eat, party and shop
Its what you make of it really.
