    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great experience - I was able to be involved in high level decision making and long term strategic projects.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very valued - towards the end of the placement colleagues came to me for advise or training in relation to work. We also had some great team social events.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had weekly one to ones with my line manager where I was able to ask any questions I may have had.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As you would expect the workload did vary from time to time. Some days you would come in to work expecting to do one thing and end up supporting work that is completely different.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibility grew as time went on. Gaining trust and proving I could do the work was key to any given responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I improved my skill set considerably. My experience of even being in a business environment alone enhances your skill set.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We had many team social events throughout the year (usually monthly) plus in-work monthly team challenges and 'brown bag' sessions - different team members would share information about a work topic or skill they may have.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Intern handover was well organised.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was invited to all team training events. Opportunities across Disney were open to interns including speaker events and knowledge sharing events.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Travel loan

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • No grad scheme in place. There would be no opportunity to join my team as a graduate and would have to gain more experience first. Other interns in different teams/departments have been invited back.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Intern nights out were always organised. A Facebook page for all Disney interns is created by Disney HR for us to get to know each other and find housemates for the year.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London isn't the cheapest place..

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • A lots of bars/pubs/restaurants to go to after work in Hammersmith.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not a lot if at all.

    1/5
