  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time as a summer analyst, people here have been very friendly and encouraging. We get responsibility and projects that add value which make the experience rewarding, the culture of the bank is great and really reflects on the working environment.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • People in the bank veiw interns are an integral part of the team. They are keen to coach you throughout and engage you in their day to day dealings making you feel part of the team and valued. This is particularly enhanced by the projects that we are assigned that entail working closely with different people and adding value.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The progream is an excellent way to learn a lot about the bank and the indusrty but it is also an great way to learn more about yourself. Mentors and managers were essential in this process they constantly encourage you to reach out to people, network, find out what suits you and challenge yourself. They are very appraochable and keen to listen.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is a very good work life balance especially within transaction bankng. The workload really varied during my time as there were times I kept myself busy where there were instances were the work load cooled down and had the opportunity to reach out and learn more about the bank.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • People here are willing to give you responsibility but you need to earn it. At the begining I had to run most of my work through my supervisor but as the time went by and I earned her trust I had more and more autonomy.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Bank of America provides a week of training which is essential for your time in tha bank but also broadens your understanding of the industry. In the same time I manged to develop my Excel skills but most importanly peoples skills which will definitely assist me in my studies and beyond.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The porogram was very well organised and we were assigned mentors and buddies which made our transition in the team really smooth as well as really help develop our potential.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a full week of training, the training covered technical skills such as Excel and accountancy training but also presentation skills and networking which definetly proved useful.
