The Role
It was a really great experience for me. I would definitely recommend it. I learned a lot and actually got to put some of my skills in practice. I also met some really great people that I will keep in touch with.
The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, beyond my expectations, with plenty of friendly people who were always there when you needed them.
Manager would always provide all the help needed or direct me to the right person to get help from. There was no question I could not find an answer to within minutes.
There were days when there was not too much to do because I had to wait for permissions to use certain software / plugins and there were also days when I ended up staying late.
I was given a project to look after and therefore was given quite a lot of responsibility I would say. Nerve racking but worth it.
I have picked up a couple of very useful technologies which I am sure I will get to use from now on, both in school and future jobs. The skills I have picked up are great skills to put on my CV.
The Company
Most people would expect the contrary from an investment bank, the atmosphere was nothing but dull. The guys were always up to something and this made my stay very enjoyable.
My manager and I prepared a plan right from the first day, so the organisation was really smooth and I knew exactly what I was supposed to do.
There were a lot of useful trainings, on the technical side of things and also on the financial side as well.
Got a graduate job with them! It's conditional, but I'm fairly sure I will meet the condition and I am looking forward to coming back.
The Culture
We used to spend most of our lunch time together and there were also some enjoyable nights. Most of them were really nice people.
Very expensive so I would recommend to budget in advance. I was not used to living in such an expensive place so this was new to me.
Great nightlife, lots of variety in bars and clubs for you to go to after work. It was great to relax after a log week.
A few networking events and other events organised by interns. Was great to get to know others through these and it's important to build up your network.
