The Role
I enjoyed it very much. It was quite hard work but worth it all the same. I got to meet some really great people too and learned a lot from the experience. Definitely would do it again.
I felt valued greatly by my colleagues. I didn't have any problems and everyone introduced themselves well and I got to know people pretty well.
I got all the help I needed from my colleagues, especially near the start when I was having a bit of difficulty with some things. I thought my manager was really helpful and he was willing to help me with anything that I needed help with.
I thought I got quite busy near the end of the internship and I found it to be quite hard, but it was achievable in the end for me. At the start it was easier but you need to get keep tabs on all your tasks to keep ahead of it.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility from the very start of the internship, with my own project. I was in charge of most of it and it was good to experience a bit of this in the banking world.
I received a lot of training which allowed me to improve my key skills. I will definitely use these in the rest of my university career. It will surely come in useful for my future career too!
The Company
It was a great working environment but was quite quiet at times. People seemed to be working all the time and I didn't get too much time to chat to others because they were so busy.
I thought it was very well organised. The internship team made sure that everyone know what events and things were happening in the internship from the very start to the end. Great.
From the start, it is clear that the company invests a lot in personal training and development. Everyone attends inductions and training sessions at the start and throughout the internship you can elect to complete extra training. I found this really helpful and definitely recommend it.
Subsidised Canteen
From the feedback I got from my manager it seems like I dd a good job. I hope to get a job with them in the near future as I really enjoyed this internship.
The Culture
We saw each other everyday so it was really good to get know each other. I met some great people and often went out with them for lunch and other events which was really good and fun.
London is expensive, so prepare for it. The internship pays pretty well so it's not actually too bad if you plan it well.
The nightlife was great with lots of variety. I mainly went out with the other interns at the end of the week and it was great fun. Would definitely want to do it again.
There were quite a few opportunities; mainly networking opportunities out of work with other interns and members of the business. It's always good to get to know people and expand your network.
