  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work was interesting, I was kept busy with varied work of real importance.

  • All colleagues made an effort to help as best they could

  • My manager and supervisor both provided a great deal of support, encouraging me to ask for help whenever I needed it

  • Workload varied day by day but for the most part there was always a comfortable stream of work

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was allocated a project within in the first few weeks which had genuine business implications

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As well as improving technical knowledge, the placement has helped me develop communications skills which I will no doubt use for the rest of my career

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was mostly light-hearted but of course would vary

  • Both my manager and supervisor were well prepared for my arrival but things such as building access could have been organised by HR a little better

  • Although my manager was very keen for me to get involved in a number of training schemes, the waiting lists for the schemes were longer than practical for my short internship

  • Particularly in the department in which I did my placement

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Particularly in the town I am living in there are a good number of Graduates and Undergrads who are keen to socialise.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Accommodation can be found relatively cheaply although it is difficult to find short term leases. Socialising cheaply is possible

  • Particularly in the town I was staying in, the nightlife was very good every night of the week

  • Opportunities were made available to graduates and undergraduates
