The Role
I did enjoy this placement as it provided me with valuable HR knowledge as well as improving my customer service skills and self confidence.
I feel that as I had the same job role as the rest of the team, the work that I produced and provided was value by the department and business.
During my time, my frequent 1:1 meetings with my manager as well as small and wider team meetings, helped me refocus my aims and the job role that I was doing.
As this role was customer service based for employees and those outside of the business, we were constantly available to assist the business and beyond.
I was given the same responsibilities as full time employees in the team
I feel I have a learnt a lot during my time at BOC from customer service, people skills and HR knowledge to help me not only at University, but adapt into future roles.
The Company
As the 2 teams that I worked within were of similar age and our work often overlapped, I feel that the atmosphere was positive and I fitted in well within the department.
When I started the placement, a training schedule was set up for me as well as meeting with senior members of the department.
Constant 1:1 with my manager helped keep me on track as well self development and referring to my year training plan.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I am not sure what opportunities will be available to me within the Company in the future but I have defiantly enjoyed my year with the Company.
The Culture
I was the only placement student for the department
I did not live locally to BOC and chose to commute in via train each day
I did not live locally to BOC and chose to commute in via train each day
