The Role
- Role Description
- Spent one week in the Commercial Property department and one week in the Construction department
- Independently drafted title documents: reports on title from land searches, sellers’ questionnaires and title deeds; epitomies of title for unregistered land
- Suggested amendments to the heads of agreement for a lease, subsequently compiling an initial draft of the lease
- Summarised a valuation report for a defective building dispute, produced a schedule for a building development and reviewed various construction contracts
- Completed legal research tasks on the ownership of ‘new’ land, the proposed changes to the Construction Act 1996 and public procurement
- Researched prospective clients by following up current renewable energy investment news- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

Everyone was very friendly and the trainees organised activities for those on placement.

Most tasks were relevant and related to current work that the solicitors in the department were doing

Partner involvement was excellent for a vacation placement and the HR support was very good

There could have been more deadlines set by supervisors and work pre-prepared to set.

About average for a vacation scheme but I did get a good idea of the activities that trainees would do.

Very well organised- we had an introductory meeting, timetables and trainees were instrusted to help us find our way around at the beginning of the placement

I got on really well with the other vacation placement students and am still in tough with all of them.
