The Role
I enjoyed it an awful lot and thought my time there was well spent a lot better than others in the same year of placement, there were a lot of social activities as well as good experience.
Very much so everyone was very friendly and treated me just like another employee, a developer on equal terms, just one who might need a hand a little more often.
I was assigned a line manager when i joined and the support was available while i was there, i didn't particularly use the resource though, just one to one meetings to discuss issues now and then. But if there were a problem id imagine it would be fine.
The team i was working in kept me busy each day, its a big company so i cant guarantee the same for others but my team was great.
I felt like i had as much responsibility as other full time employees in my team, i was doing essentially the same work as long as i was able to handle it there was nothing stopping me from picking it up.
The technical skills were quite specific but all the learning from working in this kind of environment and how to act in a large business environment was such a big help in getting used to this kind of work in any company.
The Company
People worked hard when it was coming close to deadlines but there was always time for a break and some fun, as well as planned social activities.
The placement itself inst too organised a lot of the responsibility falls to the team you are in, so if the team is active in giving you things to do and training then its great.
There were plenty of routes to go down in their already existing training and development systems which were available to me.

I was given a conversion center so that upon completion of my degree i will be taken on in the graduate program full time, based on my performance in placement and an assessment center.
The Culture
Yeah we all got along well, 2 of us were even in the same team working together and all the others generally met at lunch time at least to catch up and chat.
Fairly cheap in Belfast can be in several places across the UK so i cant guarantee this for everyone.

There were plenty of places to go with people from work, and organised events, and there is lots to do in Belfast after work it is a nice city.
