I enjoyed the placement and it proved very benficial to me in terms of gaining a wider set of skills and gaining an insight on working for a bank and a 9 to 5 job

My colleagues valued me a great deal and made me feel integrated and part of the team and compliance family

-
I was shown how to take tasks on and told to ask questions if i didnt understand certain tasks given. My manager advised me and made sure iw as comfortable with the work load
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
it varied. Some days when the workload was sufficient i was kept busy. However when there was litttle work to be done it did get boring.

-
A fair amount. I was given access to personal drives where i ammended databases and the like

-
Very friendly and homely. Everyone made an effort to make me feel comfortable

On the first day we were given an intensive training session paid for by RBC that helped familiarise us with banking lingo and the like. I was personally given complinet training by my manager to help deal with the systems and databases.

-
- There were no perks with this internship
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
Fairly. the bank has a very good friendly atmosphere that makes it very appealing to work for in the future. it is also on the up and a very trusted bank which is essential nowadays particularly and prides itself on its client relationship
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
-
The fellow internships got on extremely well and we bonded very well. We still meet up for drinks and catch up

Obviously the city is not known to be cheap but for lunch ect you can find some really nice reasonbably priced restaurants.
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
-
Didnt get to experience much but seems lively
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
dinners were organised etc to get to know other interns and to network with traders and workers. very beneficial
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?
-
It was a really good experience and everyone at RBC was really friendly and made me feel part of a family. You learn a great deal at RBC and people are always willing to help. Great for the CV and you get a foot in the door when you have a placement here as they consider you for graduate positions. Really enjoyed it, wouldnt change it!
