    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had an amazing year at Disney, where i gained new skills and professional experience, as well as having an enjoyable time.

  • I really felt a valued and respected member of my team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My team were always helpful, giving me support whenever i had questions or needed guidance.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The amount of work interns were given seemed to vary considerably between different departments. As a market research intern i felt i had just enough work, however i know some of my colleagues felt they were given too much.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given more responsibility as the year work on, as my confidence grew. By the end of my internship i felt i was really contributing to the significant and important tasks, including running meetings.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • All the skills i've gained through the last year, will help me considerably in my first year at uni and in my future career.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was relaxed and welcoming.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The induction and starting procedures all ran smoothly. Unfortunately, there werent any follow up talks/information after starting.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Disney invest in courses and presentations but i often felt that interns were given last choice/priority. Having said this, i did get to attend many development sessions.

  • Staff Sales/Staff Shop

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to return to this office, however there aren't many opportunities for future employment (no graduate schemes).

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are so many interns within the office (about 150), so there are lots of opportunities to make friends. I've made some friends for life from this internship.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive in general. Socialising outside of work costs a lot.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife was good in the surrounding and nearby areas. There were plenty of places to go for social events with work colleagues.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work with other interns, however there were many activities with more senior members of staff.
