    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was given the opportunity to perform the same work as a graduate, even though I had not gone to University yet, meaning that I learnt a lot and was supported the whole time when I didn't understand.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I know that my work was appreciated, although working in different teams each week makes it harder to get to know people really well.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I always had people on my team with different levels of experience that would help me when I was confused by what I was meant to be doing.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were a few days when I had to stay late and had lots of work, and others when I was left with not much to do, but this is just the nature of being on an audit job, and we would be able to leave early when we didn't have work, to make up for the days when we stayed late.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • For my age and experience I was really impressed with how much responsibility I was given, and had the chance to interview senior management of large companies to report back to my mangers. It was great experience and helped me to learn a lot.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experience of working in a professional environment and being trained to understand accountancy is a skill that has helped me apply for more internships at University and get more experience

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was nice, but there was a hard working atmosphere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was extremely well organised, and the training we were given at financial college was really high quality.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a whole month of training before starting the job, and even when we were working, there were opportunities to attend further training sessions for excel skills or presentation skills.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The scheme is great because you can skip out all stages of the application for graduate jobs and just have a partner interview following this internship scheme.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We were sent away on 2 social weekends to get to know all the interns in the country, and many of us have stayed in touch after the placement.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Manchester is a nice city but too expensive there's a lot to do and see.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The same as in any other big city!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was alot of socialising with employees but not many extra activities were organised.

    5/5
