    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was an amazing opportunity to get real life experience within this company and this industry. It offered an insight into many varying parts of the business, its processes, expectations and competencies.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The sense of 'team' was very high and every project was presented and promoted as a team effort.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support, people management and encouragement were ever-present throughout the internship but it was certainly a case of learning as you go. It was important to think on your feet as specific training was not systematic.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a very strong mix but extremely busy days were more frequent where as afternoons waiting for the 6pm close of play were few and far between.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was surprised and really pleased with the high level of trust and responsibility placed in me as an intern.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The placement provided me with an unparalleled opportunity to learn, engage and develop. I would say that learning more about myself and how I work has been one of the highlights of my experiences with L'Oreal.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was warm and there was a strong sense of humor but I think the fun dynamic differs from team to team.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation and schedule of the internship was well communicated and clearly set out throughout.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were opportunities for personal development sessions were frequently organised.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The internship leads on to a graduate scheme that is explained by the recruitment team early in the process. The internship provides a clear stepping stone but I have yet to hear the result.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good group of people who looked to socialise outside of work and we did organise a few occasions. However, this group was actually smaller than I expected but maybe this was just a case of our intern take this year.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Typically priced for London.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was a good variety of pubs and nearby areas offered bars and nightclubs.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The opportunity to organise sport or club activities outside of work weren't maximised by our intern committee.

    4/5
