    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It's a really friendly place to work, you settle in and feel part of the team almost instantly which is always a great start to enjoying your work.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Friendly is the first word I would use to describe the atmosphere in the office, everyone is really sociable so you get to know people quite well considering the short time that you are here.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There is always someone to answer your questions no matter how trivial.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were some quiet and some busy periods like any office but I always had something to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • There is a system in the office to make sure all the work gets checked, you are left to work independently but then your work is checked and if there is any feedback then everyone is willing to talk to you about it.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are transferable skills which you learn when working in a large team in an office environment which stay with you. My degree is not directly linked to the work although bits do help.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very sociable and really pleasant to work in.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The program is structured enough that you know what's going on but not very rigid which is nice, there are induction days to start off your time where you meet the other interns which is a great opportunity.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Everybody takes the time to help you with work which helps you develop while you are here. The project which you are given when you first arrive helps you to develop so many skills, it's a great idea.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are job opportunities depending on how well the internship goes and your performance in the office but you dont find out whether you have a job offer until a few weeks after the internship has ended.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were lots of events and trips to get involved in, not only with the other interns but also with colleagues in the office.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • There are plenty of places to go as Manchester is a big city, it depends where you go though as to the price, it is a University city so there are student areas with student prices but also more expensive bars and clubs so it depends where you go.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Because of the size of the city and the University there is a really lively nightlife with plenty of bars and clubs.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are events outside of work including pub quizzes, netball matches and trip to the greyhound races.

    4/5
