The Role
- Role Description
One of the distinctive qualities of the Nabarro scheme is the opportunity to spend three weeks in one department. After two days of induction sessions covering IT training and the programme for the scheme, I was welcomed into my team. Each student was assigned to a supervisor (an associate) and a buddy (a first year trainee) and I was immediately made to feel an important part of the team. I was introduced to other lawyers and given a desk in an office with another senior associate. Over the three weeks I undertook a range of tasks, completing work for my supervisor and other lawyers in the department. This included writing letters to clients and Tribunal, drafting contracts and performing research. In addition, summer scheme students took part in Project: Nabarro, a group exercise which encouraged creative thinking as well as business and presentation skills.
