The Role

Role Description

Provide technical support to users within the building as well as field staff. Also providing application support to dealers. Managed the infrastructure for the office and on a day to day basis, dealt with user access levels, telephony, data back ups and file restores, printing and print servers, technical support for applications and so on.

Felt welcome from day one. I was treated no different then those who were working for the company for years. I hwas given full resposability from day one. I felt I was trusted by my manager to make my own decisions. Sometimes they were the best but worked on them to improve in the future and I think that is what the placement is all about.

Any questions I asked they were answered straight away. Great support from the team and manager. Even at busy and stresfull times, they have found time for me to support me and answer any questions I had

I kept myself busy at all times. There was always something to do. Manager allocated me enough projects to keep going as well as day to day tasks. Had a good variety of jobs allocated.

I like to think that I have improved a lot on the skills I have prior the placement. I also managed to pick up new skills that will be very useful for my final year as well as for future jobs. I like to think that the placement helped me become a more resposible person. I am more disciplined when it comes to work and I have more confidence and initiative in what I do.

I had one training module which was part of the scheme. It consisted of 3 module and I feel that only the third module was the most useful. This was related to presentation skills. The others were good as well. Beasides that I have received only training on the job. I think though for th job role I had, there isn't much training could be invested in the short term.

I think it would be a real pleasure to work for this company but unfortunately the part of the group I was working in, they do not provide a graduate scheme (at least not for now) but there is always the posibility to have an interview if there is a job opening.

There wasn't many of us in the part of the group that I have worked in but did keep in touch with placement students from other parts of the group and the company did help us get together at times and be able to socialise.

the prices were not sky high but in ratio with the salary it was affordable.

Redhill was not the best palce to go on a night out but it was realatively easy to go places around Redhill such as London, Brighton etc
