    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement, but felt that I didnt get much time to fill out my folder and that often I was just seen as an extra member of staff and not given the chance to carry out tasks.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My shop was understaffed so i felt quite valued by my colleagues, as they appreciated the help i was able to give them. Having worked in a pharmacy before I also felt that I was able to help well.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I met with my supervisor on the first day and we chatted through some things. My supervisor helped me wherever she could but as she was busy herself it was difficult to find time to meet again and look through my folder.

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The shop was very busy and so I was never bored! I enjoyed it being busy, it meant that there was always something to do and I was always trying to learn new things so I could help out as much as possible!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I think I was given a fair amount of responsibility during my placement. I was not given to much or too little, it seemed appropriate for what we were doing. I was responsible for myself and my own actions.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I didnt really learn anything that I didnt already know having worked in a pharmacy before. However experience is always good so I still feel it was worthwhile to carry out the placement!

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I wasnt in an office. But the atmosphere was good most of the time.Sometimes there was friction between other members of staff, but I just didnt get involved.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • For 6 months prior to the placement i was under the impression that I was going to a different shop and had prepared how I was getting there. Then about a week before I was due to start I was given a different shop that was a fair distance from where i stayed. This did not give me a good first impression of the company. The placement itself was set up well with the folder and things, however I would have prefered to have been given more time to carry the folder out. Because of where I was I had to leave my house at 7am and did not return till 7pm and as such did not exactly feel like doing work when I got home, but found I had too because there was no time to carry it out in store.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development LP taught me how to carry out tasks the Lloyds way, which will be useful if I work for Lloyds in the future.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I hope to gain future employment with the organisation and I am confident that I will do so.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was no other placement students nearby, however the staff in the shop were friendly and invited me out!

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I didn;t live in the area I worked in and did not socialise there either

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I didnt go out in the area I worked in, as I was living at home so did not require too!

    2/5
