The Role
- Role Description
My current job title is Intel EMEA ESG Channel Marketing Specialist. This means working for Intel, focused on the geographical area of Europe & Middle-East & Africa, concentrating on product sales for the Embedded Market, and selling through distribution Channels – and a marketing specialist for this focus.
My job role is a combination of regular tasks and various ongoing projects that can be very varied.
My weekly/regular tasks include:
• Owning a website
• Sending an internal newsletter
• Sending an external newsletter
• Weekly sales reporting
• Running training calls
• Running new customer reports
• Providing Intel merchandise, banners and product documentation for events
• Writing a blog
• Managing a marketing SharePoint
• Running the social media marketingMy ongoing projects include:
• Organising a virtual event/conference for our distributors and channel partners
• Organising a face-to-face event/conference for our distributors and channel partners
• Reporting on the Embedded industry with Intel’s data
• Creating marketing material for events
• Updating a reporting tool
• Creating a viral video
• Supporting various worldwide events
• Writing communications for distributors and staffMy supervisor is Elaine Cook who also works in marketing but my manager is Jarek Matchey who manages the EMEA ESG Channel team overall. I have bi-weekly meetings with both my supervisor and manager to check on my progress and talk about any issues I would like to raise or discuss.
I frequent liaise with the internal team, external distributors and various outsourced companies who provide us with services such as; Merchandising companies, BT, Event Management companies and many more.
I also have the opportunity to take on other projects outside my job role if there are particular areas I am interested in gaining experience in. For example, I was interesting in working further in communications so I have been able to create and explore a project involving the improving and expanding of ESG’s current communication strategy.
