    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was incredibly useful and provided me with clarity regarding future job aspirations, but I felt that property was not an industry I wanted to enter. This was nothing personal, but just my own thoughts/opinions. This is why this section does not score the full amount.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • My mentors' based in the Press Office were very helpful, full of knowledge and approachable. They all made me feel at ease and were, in my opinion, a real asset to the organisation.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was given full support and guidance throughout the programme. No question was deemed too silly and there was never a point where I felt lost or unsure what to do.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Before I came onto the Insight programme, I was unsure about whether a career in PR would be for me but this week gave me full clarity. Also, it was interesting to take what I had learnt in the classroom and put it into practise in the working world.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We were allocated a timetable well in advance which detailed all of the different activities involved. Everything ran to schedule, therefore this section receives full marks.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The schedule for the week in conjunction with the general working, office atmosphere was of high energy and was very enjoyable.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were advised on personal training and development, but since this only lasted a week the organisation is somewhat limited in how it can develop us. But, given the amount of time available I was incredibly impressed with how much information they managed to cram in and I felt as if I had learnt a lot.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • From day one I was given responsibility and made to feel like anyone else that worked for the organisation. I was not seen as separate, but genuinely as if I was part of the team.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Since I was treated as if I was any other employee, I got a true insight into the company culture. Although I am unsure whether I would like to embark on a career in property as a surveyor, I would welcome an opportunity to join the organisation mainly due to its electric, easy going culture.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • In the Press Office, the work I could undertake was limited, mainly due to the fact the Insight programme only lasted a week. With this in mind, it is difficult to truly assess whether this has truly affected my future career choices. However, speaking to employees helped to provide more clarity of my future career path. So yes, this was helpful.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Full expenses for public (tube) travel were offered up to the value of £150

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We were timetabled in for networking lunches, one of which was in the boardroom on the top floor with some of the senior staff within the organisation. This was a really great experience.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The organisation prepared lots of networking and social events which enabled us to bond quickly with some of the other graduates. This was achieved, even in such a small amount of time.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • To be honest, I didn't really ask.

    2/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I have nothing but positive things to say about the organisation and its Insight scheme to my friends.
