    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The job itself was a fun one and it was good to finally be able to put degree work into practice. The work was also a lot more fun that i expected.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The company appear to value me and at the end of the experience i was offered a summer itern role. The friendliness of the staff meant i had no problem accepting this.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a fair amount of guidance as this was my first opportunity in industry. if i had any issues employees around me were quick to help me

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This was my first job in industry so i learned an incredible amount over the few weeks i was at john lewis. The computer work and marketing strategies will all be very useful in my degree work.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • This was difficult to organise before the insight took place as i organised it myself but once i was there the partnership did a lot to make my time go smoothly

  • A fun atmosphere always meeting new people and socialising.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company spent a lot of time with me ensuring i was doing things in the correct way and as a result by the end they were happy with what i was achieving

  • The time i spent there would closely represent what it would be like to work at the company full time.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • John lewis are a very honorable partnership and it was very easy to see this as soon as i walked in. A massive concentration on customer service and providing a premium service.

  • This has definitely excelled my interested in the marketing area although i am not 100% convinced yet.

  • In the form of vouchers


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I did not spend a lot of time in the company so i didnt get to meet everyone but the people i met were relevant to what i was doing and allowed me to get a further summer placement.

  • Not many of such opportunities came about

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Loads of things to do in the local area and is definitely somewhere id consider moving too. A range of recreational activities made the area very attractive.

  • Very useful insight for people interested in marketing.
