About You
Very much so. Really good atmosphere throughout the week, whilst also learning a lot of useful information about M&A, DCM, ECM and Rothschild's history and structure. Worked on a simulation pitch throughout the week in teams, which we presented to senior bankers at the end, covering the rationale behind an acquisition and valuation of the target.
Highly valued. Analysts and senior banker alike were very willing to answer questions and were happy to take time out of their days to have individuals chats.
A lot. Several work shadowing sessions were left open for general questions.
Very good introduction to how financial transactions work, including hostile takeovers, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions and more.
The Company
Good. Many classroom-like sessions with a lot of freedom to ask questions.
Brilliant - really inclusive and friendly atmosphere.
HR organised sessions covering all aspects of the bank. They even organised for first year analysts to come and give us extra training on valuation when we needed more help.
Very good insight. We each had two work shadowing sessions with first year analysts (2 students to each employee) which were left pretty open for questions.
Very good insight. Rothschild's culture is remarkably friendly.
Very good. It gave me a lot of information in order to consider the career paths available.
Everything Else
All travel expenses and accommodation up to £100 a night was reimbursed.
All training was conducted by employees and so we had the opportunity to meet numerous bankers.
The company hired out part of a bar with food and drinks included on the first night. In addition, the first lunch was with all the first year analysts.
There wasn't a session on this, but I know Rothschild has a very active CSR programme.
Certainly. It was a really useful and enjoyable week.
