The Role
I felt like a valued member of the team and wider business. Challenging, rewarding and worthwhile.
The support was there if I needed it/asked for it.
Whenever I felt there wasn't enough to do I could quite easily be proactive and find things that needed to be done or alternatively my manager was able to give me more tasks/projects
within reason I felt like I had quite a high level of responsibility
The Company
Most people were very easy to get along with and able to offer advice.
I was the first student in the finance team and at first, felt a little isolated from the other students. This was rectified and the job evolved to a more meaningful placement.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The Culture
The area the office is in does not lend itself to being social, most people live quite far away. We do however have a work football evening once a week which is great fun and a great opportunity to get to know colleagues outside of work.
I joined sports clubs outside work and got involved in the local area which I would recommend to everyone as Hook is not a bustling city with any nightlife.
