  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • They regularly told me how they appreciated the work I was doing.

  • Occasionally my managers were busy in meetings, but I felt well supported by all team members.

  • If I finished my core tasks early there were always plenty of less urgent jobs I was asked to do.

  • By the end of my placement I was carrying out similar tasks to the full time employees on the graduate scheme.

  • Communication and excel skills were ones which I particularly developed.

  • Received induction training to the firm, as well as presentations on the firm's "Core Values" and chances to meet with senior figures within the firm.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The internships are seen as a route to a full time job on the graduate scheme, and really increase your chances of getting a full time job for after University.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • As well as social events organized by the company, some of us met up to play football weekly, celebrated birthdays etc.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Compared to many other cities, Glasgow offers good value for this. There are also more expensive alternatives if you wish.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I am a student in the same city as the office (Glasgow) so knew all about the nightlife anyway!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Interns were encouraged to take part in Morgan Stanley's Global Volunteer Month, which gave us the chance to do Woodland Work, run a Charity Shop for a day, and many other opportunities.
