  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great varied placement that gave a fantastic insight into what it would be like to be on the MARS Management Development Scheme

  • Colleagues could not have been more supportive and I felt like a valued member of the team

  • Fantastic support throughout the 6 weeks and although work could at times be challenging all members of the team would give you all of the help that you could possibly need.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Mars live by a work hard, play hard motto and whilst in the office they will expect you to take on responsibility and show initiative and leadership.

  • Mars encourage you to take on as much responsibility as possible and aim to stretch you to see your full potential

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Through Mars University people development is highly valued and there are numerous activities that you can get involved in to develop general business skills. From the 6 weeks I developed my presentation and communication skills.

  • Very unique, fun environment where people all seem to enjoy what they do. This creates a great working environment!

  • The internship is well structured and all interns are given clear projects designed to immerse them in the team and stretch their abilities

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Mars put a great deal of time into getting to know you as an individual and setting personal goals for all interns. Time and resources are put into ensuring you fulfill these goals.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Mars have fantastic graduate opportunities and their management scheme is incredibly appealing. This is based around the emphasis on progression and development and the strong values of the company.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone got on well and Mars took us all on an induction week with meals out to ensure everyone got to know each other.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Nottingham was a cheap place to live especially in comparison to London!

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Being based at Waltham was fairly remote which meant there was not night life although interns and graduates went out in Nottingham to socialise and make up for it.

  • Lots of chances to travel and attned different events and conferences outside of work
