About You
I enjoyed the topics I was left to research.
They didn't allow much in-depth involvement with anything. Wouldn't ask or want your opinion on issues.
Was mainly left to work things out myself, not really given guidance on how best to go about certain tasks.
The experience with such a popular magazine is always beneficial. In terms of actual skills, little.
The Company
It wasn't. They had little for you to do and most of the time it was just thought up on the spot when you had finished whatever you were doing.
Most didn't tend to interact with those of us on work experience. The few that did, though, were nice and helpful where they could be.
N/A.
The office for the particular magazine was small so it was clear to see what it would be like.
Limited interaction with staff so limited understanding.
Gave great insight into one of my main considerations in terms of a future career path - whether good or bad.
Everything Else
No reimbursement offered
The office was small and there wasn't much opportunity given for branching out and networking.
None.
They play football every Thursday, involvement depends on how many players they have available.
Worth it for insight and experience, just don't expect too much.
