- Role Description
During my summer holiday I worked on an internship for Universal Parcel Service (UPS) on a project to introduce affiliate marketing in the company within the UK. This project was successful and it was presented to UPS executive management and was taken forward by the company as a future scheme.

I found this a difficult but challenging experience

i have a good relationship with all collegues who i have worked with

I was given written and verbal guidance and undertook the research on my own. however, I gave feedback to mangement on a regular basis throughout the project
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

My time was limited so i was kept very busy
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

the entire project was undertaken by myself but with management input when requested
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

This placement will provide valuable experience and enable me to apply theory learned in university to practice

The office was always busy
- 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

The placement was very well organised. I was given an actual project to work on independantly and had teriery support when needed

My project was taken forward by the company for further research

- There were no perks with this placement
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

The company offered me experience in the type of work I hope to be doing in the future
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

I was taken out for a mail on my last placement day but did not socialise outside of work times
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

I stayed in a hotel which I self funded
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

Dont know as I did not go out during my leasure time
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

No
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?

The experience I gained during my work placement gave me the confidence to look at work in a positive way rather than a feaful one. The experience gave me a good insight into the reality of work.
