Job Title: Risk And Opportunity Officer
Overall Rated 9.0

The Role
- Role Description
I had to assess and up-to-date the opportunities held within the company and once updated, I needed to place them on to the opportunity database where they could be viewed and kept for lessons learnt.
- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
-
The job porvided me with amazing opportunities and an ability to build on my characteristics, which I would not have achieved in any other summer placement.
- 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
-
The people I worked with were amazing! They made me feel comfortable for the get go and I knew if there were any problems, they would help me out.
- 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
-
If I had any problems, I was always told to go and discuss it with the people who arranged my placement and they would sort it out for me.
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
I always had something to do! Obviously some days were busier than others but that's just the nature of work.
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
-
Thankfully at the beginning I was shadowing another collegue in the team. However, towards the middle of my placement, I was provided with more responsibility, including organising my own meetings.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
-
Whilst the placement I undertook had no real link with law, the skills I obtained from this placement will be a benefit to me in the future.
The Organisation
- 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
-
I worked in a very fun area. Whilst everyone was obviously working hard, I still felt like I has able to have abit of a laugh with them. Also, the team I worked in from a previous placement were near to me aswell so I was able to go and meet them again aswell.
- 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
-
There were some hiccups initially when starting this placement as the HR process was in the middle of being changed. However, if I had any problems, I was able to contact my placement recruitment officer who was happy to help!
- 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
-
I had the chance to go on a couple of training courses, which was funded through the company. I am really grateful about this, especially since I was only in the company for just over 2 months!
- 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
-
- There were no perks with this internship
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
I really loved working there. I would definately consider a job in the future within this company however, for now I am still just trying to figure out what to do after finishing my degree.
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
-
There were many nights out with the other placements, as well as nights out with my team members and the graduates.
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
-
I lived at home
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
-
Barrow is currently being done up so the nightlife is definately on the rise.
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
The offer was always available about outside of work activities, which we heard about through emails in the company.
