The Role
- Role Description
Working in central financial services, I was responsible for gathering and analysing credit information on current borrowers. I analysed credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and lending money. I was actively involved in producing regular credit management reports for senior finance managers and business unit heads. I produced cash forecasts and aged debt reports and assisted credit control manager in the presentation of it on a fortnightly basis. I was also required to provide some administrative services with regards to legal liquidation and the posting of foreign currency payments. Reporting directly to the accounts receivable manager; I was required to produce on request ad hoc projects from no prior base to work from.

Embarking on an undergraduate placement at Fujitsu Services was one of the best choices I have made. I have developed a range of proficiencies through the necessary responsibilities which the position holds. Interacting with different departments has enabled me to expand upon my communication skills. Additionally, this has also resulted in creating strong links and many friends within the organisation through close interaction between colleagues. Furthermore, I have become increasingly computer literate and competent with the use of databases and excel. My organisational skills have greatly improved due to the large amount of ad-hoc duties with limited time scales to contend with. The reporting and analysis element of my role has allowed me to drastically improve my analytical skills which will be of enormous use when I return university for my final year. Overall, I have been able to develop my business awareness skills and understand the actualities of working for a large organisation along with recognising general work ethic. I have been given a plenty of responsibility which has provided me with many opportunities to test myself.
