The Role

Role Description

I had responsibility for 2 major retaillers during my placement; Woolworths & Asda. I then went on to manage one of the teams. No day was the same. Some tasks included; managing orders through to delivery, forecasting individual products at store level, attending promotional meetings with your customer and the Kraft sales representitive and reporting on weekly delivery targets.

Everybody is approachable, right up to senior management. If your not sure ask, somebody will know the answer. I found the bi-weekly 1:1's with my line manager very useful too.

Everyday was different so it was great to get variety. There were times though were it was extremely busy, although this was exciting!

I was delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage one of the teams. It looks great on my C.V and helped my confidence massively.

Very different from univeristy, as you often have quite a few commitments. I shared a house with 2 other placement students, but some lived at home. We still managed to get together for meals/ drinks.

13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

Cheltenham isn't cheap to live in, but when the students are at univeristy the nightlife is student prices.
