I worked across various roles within the orgainisation, each role provided me with different daily tasks. Within the Asset Control Department I was resposible for carrying out asset audits, controling teh movements of over 31,000 assets, auction process control and producing daily management strrtegic reports.
In the depots i was responsible for taking customer enqueries, fulfilling hire requirements and ensuring the machine was delivered and time and at the correct location for the customer. As well as the customer facing role I also ran daily physical and Financial Utilisation reports.- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
-
The placement gave me much enjoyment, exposing me to many differnet business areas/roles increasing my learning but at the same time meeting some great people whom i had the pleaure to work with.
- 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
-
Every perosn that I worked with was very helpful and took time out to help with my learning as well as making me feel aprt of their team. They took an interest in the work i completed and answered any questions i had.

I was given support from management right through the organisation from a senior level down to depot and workshop managers.
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
There were days when the working day was easy however they were few and far between as across most of the placement i was given a balanced work load. Sometimes I was required to take work home to get it completed and other times I was able to use the working day to complete university work so it swung in roundabouts.
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
-
I was given much more resposibility than i thought i would be which was excellant for my learing and placement experience.

-
I learnt skills on placement that help me understand previous university teachings better as well as skills/qualifications that i will keep for life and will come in useful in university and work life beyond.
The Organisation

As people had flexible working locations it varie depending on the number of people in the office at any given time. However everybody in the office had a sensor of humour as long as work was still being done.

-
I was the first placement student that the organisation had taken on so it was as much a learning curve for them as it was me however if felt that the placement ran smoothly and provided me with a very good learning experience.
- 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

all training opportunities were avaliable to me as if i were a full time, permanent member of staff. I attended and completed a number of training courses that provided me with qualifications that can be taken beyond the organisation.
