The Role
- Role Description
I was working on a new type of vibration "free" ship to shore (STS) mega crane. My superisor was a wrting his Phd on the topic. My task was to obtain the mathematical model of the moving trolley + hoisted container and to use scientific computing tools (Matlab and Simulink) to simulate my system. The ultimate goal of internship was to interpret the resulting data in order to predict the behaviour of the scale model (1/6).
In the long run my supervisor will use my data to try with the scale model and implement control strategies.

You get a 5 days rail pass valid in the whole country and Austria. You get invited to a conference at the oldest German university (Heildeberg) , where you meet all your fellow Rise students from the UK, US and Canada. I urgently recommand all my fellow Engineers and Scientists to apply.
