The Role

Role Description

I was working at a 400MW CCGT plant, as a member of the Engineering team. Time was spent carrying out day to day maintenance tasks, as well as a project I was set. I also took time out to visit other parts of the business, and attend various meetings and training sessions.

I was bored a large proportion of the time. I had to constantly ask for jobs to do. I was never given too much work.

I was always encouraged to attend training sessions and meetings and get out and visit other sites, in order to develop my skills. I was very pleased with this aspect of the placement.

I am not sure as I was living at home and socialising with my friends there.

In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?

I'd like to recommend this placement to other students; despite some difficulties I had, it is still a great opportunity. The people who work here are all very nice, and will go out of their way to help you out. If you are willing to work hard and put in the effort, it will be noticed and appreciated.
