Role Description

The job involved learning and performing the operations in the Retail Banking network like Mortgages, Barclays Financial Planning, Local Businesses, Personal Banking etc. The role also involved understanding the area management operations (an area typically covers about 20 branches) and eveluating the bank's performance in the respective high streets.

Our HR representatives ensured that the internship was well structured. Most of the activities were planned to ensure that we get a good understanding of all the operations in the stream by the end of the internship.

There are many clubs in the organization in which we were encouraged to participate. We also got a full day opportunity to take part in a CSR event.

In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?

The experience has been wonderful and very cherishing. In addition to giving the interns a good understanding of the work stream, there are masterclasses to throw light into other departments in the company.

The only area of improvement is the relatively lower remuneration and perks compared to internships in other banks/companies in the banking & finance industry.
