The Role
My placement was both incredibly useful and enjoyable.
There was a great culture and being given project management roles helped me to integrate and become a valued member of the team.
Each person I worked with during my rotations was helpful in allowing me to gain the relevant experience I needed.
I had the responsibility of my own diary so I was able to balance my workload to ensure there weren't days I was rushed off my feet and days I had nothing to do.
After being given time to settle in I was given high value projects to run.
My personal development was top of the agenda and the training and experience I gained during my placement will help my in my final year at uni and in future employment.
The Company
The office itself could be slightly dull at times, however I spent 90% of the time out of the office and there were regular nights out with the team.
I was given a structured programme to follow which had room for manouvre to allow me to spend extra time on the areas I enjoyed as well as allowing for time off etc.
The company paid for my professional fees as well as allowing me to gain over 48 hours of CPD.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
The placement is set up as a stepping stone towards future employment with the company so it is down to whether there is the requirement for new employees at the time.
The Culture
There was little cross department contact with placement students however I was in regular contact with the other placement students in my department.
Appartments can be expensive but everything else is relatively cheap.
Great nightlife
Charity events were available but no sports to get involved with.
