- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
-
The placement was overall very good however I feel that I could have contributed alot more had I been given greater responsibility.
- 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
-
I felt valued by the majority of my colleagues.
- 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
-
Support was in all but a few exceptions provided when needed.
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
Apart from a few very busy months I could have taken on more work.
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
-
For a placement student I feel like I was given a comparatively large amount of responsibility.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
-
I feel like many of the skills I have picked up or developed will be useful both in my return to university and in my career beyond.
The Organisation
- 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
-
The overall organisation was fairly relaxed and enjoyable to work in. In my more immediate team this this was to a greater extent.
- 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
-
It was very well organised however the placement itself was based more on resource requirement as opposed to a static placement that is filled by students who succeed one another.
- 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
-
The company seemed to be happy to invest money in my development wherever it provided benefit.
- 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
-
- Flexi Time
- Financial Bonus
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
I have been offered and have informally accepted an offer of employment following university. Long term the job prospects seem to be good with many opportunites around the world.
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
-
This seemed to be good however I was commuting from Liverpool and as such did not attend many of the events.
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
-
Though I remained based in Liverpool the overall cost of living in Preston from what I have experienced is very average.
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
-
On some of my few trips to Preston for drinks and a night out I gathered the impression that Preston was fairly average in terms of its nightlife.
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
The company and some of the individuals that comprise the company set up many out of work events particularly charity focussed opportunities.
