The Role
I really enjoyed working at Childrensalon. Everyone is so friendly and the company is always striving to do the best so it is a very positive place to work within.
Everyone within the team was very welcoming and people within my team were always looking out for me to make sure that through my placement i was happy and that i understood all aspects of the intern that was expected of me.
Every member of my team was very willing to help. My manager and other team members trained me vbery well in the different fields that were expected within the busy studio environment. I was trained in styling and optimising photo's which were skills i had not learnt before working at Childrensalon.
There is always something to do within the company if i wasn't in studio, i was helping within stock. it is a fast paced company which i love so there are always things that are evolving and changing.
Enough for me to show my potential within the company but not too much so that i did not disturb the workflow. I think the idea was for me to show initiative without being mollycoddled.
I had come into the company with little skills in styling and i was trained throughout my 3 months as an intern in the way in which the company particularly works specifically to team certain products together getting the overall look perfect. I was also trained to use photoshop which is a great programme to use within any design company.
The Company
The atomsphere was great everyone within the company is like a big family. Everyone is so friendly and the company is a very positive place to work in so that is alwasy good.
Very organised, each day i had certain things that i had to acheive. The studio is very fast paced so there is always something to do. All members of my team would make sure that i was happy with what i was doing before setting me certain goals.
I was taught a lot of skills within styling, photography, optimising and just generally the way that the company worked. i had a few weeks working in stock too so that i was able to gain a general understanding of the different aspects of work within the company, and how the workflow works.
After my intern i was offered the job and a year on i am still working at Childrensalon and am very happy.
