Role Description

During my placement year I assumed a number of the responsibilities of the UK and Ireland Marketing manager due to various organisational changes within the company.

My position at Teradata involved helping to execute two of the biggest IT forums in Europe, as well as individually manage the running of two National User Group events. These events so far have contributed to more than $40million dollars of revenue for Teradata in 2008, and were able to greatly enhance the company’s profile across EMEA. I was personally able over-achieve my attendance target set for me at the start of the year. Through being highly organised my events were able to run smoothly and exactly to budget.

Throughout the year was entrusted with a high level of responsibility and flourished under the guidance of the EMEA Marketing Director. Some of my other tasks involved engaging with clients such as Barclays, Vodafone and British Airways on business deals, acting as a liaison for Teradata’s IT partners including Microsoft, SAP and SAS as well as representing the company abroad.

I feel my year in industry enabled me to show that I am highly motivated, able use my initiative, work well as part of a team and on my own, understand the needs of the customer and act with confidence at all times.
