I really enjoyed the internship, everyone was really welcoming and helpful. We initially had 2 solid weeks of training which allowed us to get an insight to the company as a whole, as well as our division and roles.

My team have all offered so much of their time to help me throughout the internship and to this day, we get on very well in and outside of work hours. They have also given me responsibilities which make me feel like a valued member of the team.

My managers both helped me out a lot, giving me daily tasks to get on with, setting up training sessions for me and are always open to my questions.

Initially we were constantly in training sessions so were quite busy, then the schedule relaxed a bit which gave us time to build up confidence to go on the phones and so on. Since then I have been busy building my client patch.

I was requiored to build my client patch from scratch, which involves cold calling and going on meetings, but was sometimes asked to send emails to my manager before sending them out, just so that he could check that I had all the information right.

I think that this internship has allowed me to build up my confidence and has also taught me a lot about the technology industry which will be useful in my dad to day life.

There were small amendments to be made for next year in regards to training sessions, but on the whole the intership was run very well.

We go out a lot with work but it's not too expensive!

The area's good for nightlife, but we mostly go to the pub around the corner from work - not the best pub but it's good to see everyone there!

15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

We were invited to the summer party on our second day in a lovely venue, I have also been on client meetings and to the Halloween party. After the internship, the whole sales floor went to Brussels and we have the Christmas and team parties coming up!

In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?

Dennis Publishing is a very good company to work for, there are many opportunities to progress within the company and it is a well respected publishing group. It is also helpful to have found an internship that pays!
