I think I had a great balance of guidance and self-reliance, I wouldn't thrive if my manager would tell me exactly what I have to do and my input would be restricted.

It depended, I was never bored apart from the first 2 weeks before I was given my assignments. More often than not I'd be in the office more than 9-5, but that was my choice and preferred style of working.

I would have loved to have more responsibility, but realistically as a placement I think I was given the right amount.

There were quite big differences between placements in different departments. I was within Global Services, which was well organised overall and we had extensive support. However, Marketing placements lacked that support net ( only had a line manager, whereas in GS we had a line manager, a people manager and a buddy )

I was informed that due to restricted numbers of graduate intakes I didn't get the job. This was very upsetting considering I really enjoyed working there and I was genuinely looking forward to going back and giving it 110%. Just make sure you don't get your hopes up when you hear about the fast-track scheme, as out of 8 former placement students in an A/C, only 2 people got the job.
